Ladder Reset build (1.13)

Trying to figure out what build would be fastest when the ladder resets soon(march 26th). Assuming mostly solo play.

I'm thinking respecing into socialism's budget mf orber @ lvl 30 would be best so all that really needs to be figured out is what route is best for normal. Probably just fireball but before lvl 12 is it worth putting skills into charged bolth or frost nova?

my current plan is 2 points into charged bolt to get me to 6 then put 1 into frost nova and buy a +2frost nova staff. Use that to trist to lvl 12-14 and then get fireball.|||I usually level up as the element i plan to play as, don't see any reason to waste a respec... whatever you do don't put points in more than one element, at least not till late nightmare... much faster to concentrate on one element.

fire is probably fastest though, put all your points extra in firebolt until you get fireball, then all your points in fireball... except save 1 point each for warmth, static field, telekinesis and teleport. (cold armors are not really worth a point this early).

why solo play, anyway? there should be lots of people to level with on bnet.|||I'm planning on a pure Blizz build to MF hell andy/meph for some stuff. I don't find that I need any uber gear for it to work. But now with respecs I usually do fire for norm since it's the fastest and then I respect to cold/blizz in nm.

It may be true that wasting a respec is unwise early in the ladder, but tokens will be cheap enough eventually, probably when using another respec really matters. Like, when you start getting good gear and need to respec for optimal stat allotment.|||assuming most of solo play, i would not go with a sorc but with a fishymancer... but anyways i feel a cold sorc through nightmare will suffice eventually adding fire to make a metorb sorc for hell|||Quote:

I agree! Fishymancers are almost OP when it comes to soloing, if you think about it. Not to imply anyone wasn't thinking; it's just a colloquialism, I guess. But.. We're in the sorce forum, so I figured I'd just tailor my response to that alone.

I think one of the best benefits of cold builds for poor players is that the freeze effect is so beneficial to glass cannons. Cast Blizz behind you and run around while your monster friends with their stupid AI run right after you. It works really well with Andy.|||Fishis are safe but for optimal play sorcs are the fastest no contest. And the highest damage output as well(blizz especially) so for power gaming its the obvious choice. Check the speed run archive for some good runs, there guy used charged bolt which is really efefctive at low lvs|||Plus it looks cool with high FCR |||I am planning on using my favorite sorc build pre infinity. Blizballer. I have tried every popular sorc build (except metebliz.. but i think thats just a poor version of blizballer anyways)|||I start my Sorc each ladder, with points into Firebolt... aiming to eventually pump Fireball and equip a Leaf staff at lvl19. The only difference in the way I do it, is since new ladders are all untwinked and there is no huge immediate need for Str, I tend to pump Energy quite a bit so I can spam Firebolts/Fireball.

Once you get Leaf on, things get retardedly overpowered. After lvl 30 you can start working on Frozen Orb if you like and immediately turn it into a more classic Meteorb build. Save your respec for later on, when you finally start getting some nice gear you can set your Energy back to zero points spent like normal =p|||I'll go with pure blizz when the ladder resets. Meph/andy/at runs till my eyes bleed and I have the gear to respec into something else
