Lets say i have a Full Tal set with lighting facet and a merc with cresent.
Will that work for a pure full lighting sorc.
Or would i be better off trying something else?
Im only 3 days old but so far i have 2 pul runes and 1 vex rune

I just wanna know the best possible sorc build without infinnity.
THis sorc is for mephi baal and countess.
Currently lvl 81 with room for 3 respecs so i could try out a few builds.|||Crescent Moon on your merc will help improve his own dmg, but won't translate over to your attacks. You will have to equip one on your Sorc if you want the benefit as well.
You aren't gonna break any immunes since you don't have the Conviction from Infinity, but you could always beef up your merc and have him get the kills. Perhaps Obediance in an Eth Thresher or Giant, Eth bugged Fortitude, Vamp Gaze or Andy's (or Coa haha).
I think it could still be doable. Won't be an unstoppable single-tree monster like an Infinity Sorc, but then again there are many Sorc builds that rely on merc to help kill certain mobs. It wouldn't be the first time ;-)|||How about cold facet in tal set will that break cold immunes ? sry just shooting out brain farts :P|||Quote:

No it won't. If you are just starting IMO the best build to go with(and one that ROCKS with Tals set) is meteorb|||I currently use a pure light sorc (without infinity) for my runs, and I have no complaints. Currently running countess/pits/summoner/shenk/eld/pindle/nihl/baal. My gear is average and the killing speed is good, doing about 16k lightning. As long as you have an insight merc and mid-range gear a light sorc is still a good choice.|||IMHO it's the worst element to base a pure build. There are no lightning immune free areas in the game which you can run at will (not sure about Spider Forest) and relying on merc for the kills severely slows your speed|||Quote:

I disagree.
The areas I listed above are light immune free except for:
Archers in the pits, who do not spawn every game. If they do you can just avoid them.
Nihl, who sometimes spawns with light immunity.
Gloams in the throne, which your merc can take care of unless it's flooded with them.
Other than that those areas are smooth sailing for a light sorc. Not to mention andy/duriel/meph if you feel so obliged.|||Archers in Countess' room and Gloams in the Throne happen to be the most dangerous monsters in each area. It's not that it can be done, but if you have to use tactics to avoid monsters or depend on a merc to kill, you're taking more time than it should. And that ruins the purpose of MF, which is to kill profitable monsters in the shortest time possible.|||Quote:

But you are forgetting that the lightning sorc (at least mine) kills much faster than fb or blizzard or orb. (which i have tried all) so even though you skip 20 mobs, you still are killing at a much faster rate. 20k+ lightning is amazing. add that with the infinity i just got and it kills faster than any character i have ever had.
only complains is merc dies too fast.|||The problem with non-cold sorcs is the resists of monsters. They are so freaking high, that damage is very small against many enemies.(chaos is a good example with 60 res knights and 75 res venom lords)
