1) Meterorb with no Energy Shield
Fireball - 11.7K (with -28% to fire resistance so it acts like a 15K fireball at 0% FR)
Orb - 1176 (all setups will have 1 point in CM so around -120% CR)
2) Meteorb with 75% Energy Shield
Fireball - 9.3K (with -38%, so 12.8K)
Orb - 1118
3) Meteorb with 95% Energy Shield
Fireball - 7K (with -38%, so 9.6K)
Orb - 966
So what you guys think? Is the extra toughness of ES worth the cost in damage? Is the extra effort of a prebuff staff worth it? I really enjoyed my last ES sorc but ti was a pure orber so I could still max out the damage. I'm trying to re-create it but also be able to handle cold immunes.
Any advice is appreciated, thanks.|||If you can play it well, go for 95%! More survivability is always good.
I can never play ES, Manaburners waste me, I stick to full Vita

Nightwings with Cold Facet
Ormus Robes (15% CD, 15% FD + 3 Fireball)
Arach
SoJ
SoJ
Maras
Frostburn
Treks (for the poison res)
Then I would have Deaths Fathom (I only got 31% CD with Facet) and Spirit and on switch Eshunta and Phoenix.
Torch/Anni + 3 Fire and 3 Cold skillers.
I only get the 63 FCR breakpoint.
Skills would be -
20 Orb
20 FBall
20 FBolt
16 Telekenisis (so only 1:1)
19 Energy Shield (with + skills hits 40 if I also use a memory staff and CTA)
1 Cold Mastery
1 Fire Mastery
1 Warmth
and Prerequisites
Done at lvl 96.
Ofc, this means pre-buffing twice once with CTA, then again with Memory Staff. And I would have to adapt my play style to switching between weapon setups for optimal damage for each skill.|||sounds like a very good setup, I may have to rethink the viability of ES with my sorc build...|||I've been trying to figure out how I'm gonna get Energy shield on my Meteorb sorc, and this spells it out pretty easy. I think sacrificing a little damage for a couple points in energy shield is gonna be very helpful for my dying problems.
