Basically I have made such a sorc in classic few years ago, and although she wasnt very effective, she had her moments. I was thinking of trying to recreate something like this in LOD, but I wonder if this could be any effective, with the strong weapons. The idea is pretty simple - a sorc with 60 skill points into frozen armors; 20 into mastery and rest into energy shield.
The idea would be to get max block and try to survive the ww/zeals. Not sure if this is possible in LOD though; in classic you could go 50/50 with bad barbs.
But what about the gear? Im not that familiar with LOD, so Im not really sure:
1 hand doom runeword - for more -cold res(does this even work? or 6 socket 6 jewel sword? - ridiculously expensive)
2nd hand - stormshield I assume, with -req jewel
helmet - nightwing (cold skills, +2) or shako (10% damage reduction/life)
rings - sojs
armor - ? chains of honour?
boots - some boots with def/res
amu - +2skill/mara
belt - ? snowclash (for free blizzard skill)
torch/anni/skillers/and life charms
tactic would be to cast blizzard on yourself to make them think you are a blizzard sorcerress and wait for them to ww - hopefully the enemy barb will die
On switch that staff with ES + maybe BO.
Would it work; or is this another terrible build? I remember I sorta "leveled" my classic sorc by running around nightmare and monsters would die on the armor; that was quite funny (although hell was impossible lol).|||You'd get slaughtered
