How to build my hybrid

heys. im planning to build a meteorb mf sorceress and wondering how exactly to spend my skill points, how many frozen orb, how many cold mastery, how many meteor, how many fireball, how many fire mastery etc. any help would be much apreciated. thank you.|||Mine, i put 1 in static/teleport

20 frozen orb

1-10 in cold mastery

20 in fireball

20 in meteor

20 in fire mastery

rest in firebolt.

Use meteor/fireball as main skills, and when fire immune use orb.|||i dont mean any disrespect, but is this "scientifically" proven to be the best skill choice for max damage?|||That's the cookie cutter build, so ye. I like to get cold mastery to level 25/27 so it's more effective against bosses, plus fire immunes are so abundant it pays to have a stronger orb.|||mathematically, you need to know how many +skills and +fire skills you have from gear to calculate the "optimal" balance between Fire Mastery and FB synergies. Generally, the more +skills you have, the better it is to pump synergies instead of mastery.

The more you give up in Fire for Orb damage, too, the closer you wander towards an Orbitaller build. If you want a balanced cold-fire attack, Orbitaller. If you want a heavy Fire attack with an OK Cold backup, Meteorb. Generally, the former is better for area-clearing and the latter is better for bosshunting.|||Quote:

Depends orb's syngery ice bolt only provides 2% per point you put into it. So would it pay off more to put more into fire or cold? Or tell me your skill distribution please I always been bad with sorc.|||ice bolt 2% isnt that bad(hybrids aside). Blizz gets just as much from synergies after it has 30 points in synergies|||Quote:

I don't think so. A Meteorb would only be better at Andy, but a 40 point Fire tree would still do fine there and 40-50 point FO is defintely faster for Meph, Dia and Baal, simply because of CMs effectiveness. I even used FO on my Meteorb there because Meteor was so lacking.|||Surely faster on Diablo and Baal because of the number of Fire immunes there. Not sure about Mephisto because it drops very fast with Meteor/Fireball, and personally, I like to tank him myself because merc dies less that way. The Pits is also better with Meteorb as is Countess (though if you have good equipment you may not feel much diff here)|||could you explain the expression "cookie cutter"? cos im not really familliar with its meaning.
