Only thing I can think of to boost my nova sorc's killing speed. Don't see anything else I can pump into. Already have ES at 90% which is good enough.|||Quote:
Thunder Storm's skill level is applied when cast, which affects its duration, base lightning damage and the interval between thunderbolts, which is 125 - [(110 * lvl)/(lvl + 6)] frames (since 1 second = 25 frames, divide by 25 to express in seconds). However, if you have no point in TS and use a staff or orb to cast it before switching weapons, no thunderbolts will be fired (even if you switch back): you need to keep equipped the item that allowed you to cast it. Casting higher level TS will overwrite lower level TS, but not vice versa: casting at an equal level refreshes the duration.
Lightning Mastery and +% to Lightning Skill Damage are added together and applied to the thunderbolts when they're created; -% to Enemy Lightning Resistance is applied when the lightning damage is applied to the target. This means that to maximise damage per bolt, you should cast at the highest level TS possible and then switch weapons or even equipment to apply more LM, +% LSD and -% ELR.
TS cycles between targets in a 11 1/3 yard radius of the Sorceress: if there are multiple targets within range, TS will strike each one in turn before returning to the first target. There's nothing you can do to increase or decrease this radius, although you can exercise some control by using movement or Teleport to reposition the Sorceress, or recast TS after each strike to repeatedly attack the first target... although since the interval only approaches 25 frames (one second) as skill level increases, and this is also applied between casting and the first thunderbolt, don't get too excited.

Out of curiosity, would placing points into FO and/or static (increasing range so you can just dive into different groups) be plausible ways to increase kill speed? Never made a pure-Novatress (always used as backup), so I'm not really sure.|||I think my level 19 static with gear is enough.
I only have like 16 spare points at level 86, and I haven't even learned ice bolt yet so FO is out of the question.
Pure LIs are super rare anyway so I don't really need a backup attack. My merc is enough for that. I carry infinity on myself.|||You could max warmth or shiver armor?|||Quote:

There's no point in that with a merc using insight, and why worry about defense when you don't care if 20 monsters are bashing you on the head? I had the rest of my skills pumped into warmth before and it didn't help, so I just got insight.
I miss the good old days when T-storm did a double hit with each strike. I guess increasing it's frequency makes up for it?|||Quote:

From what I have heard t-storm=fail because it puts you in fhr every time lighting hits an enemy.|||Quote:

What? I haven't noticed any of this and my sorc only has 55 fhr from spirit.|||Quote:

Wha ...? Where did you hear/read that?|||T-storm makes you flinch...? You didn't say that very clearly.|||Quote:
