A fiew Sorc Questions

[:1]Hi everyone, i'm currently gearing a Blizzard Sorc and was wondering about a fiew things.

I went df,ormus, nightwing's veil, snowclash, 2xsoj, spirit and mara's. In order to go for high values on Blizzard. So comming from a light sorc, many values are lower than what i'm used to (fhr,fcr and res).

What fhr breakpoint should i be aiming for? Will the 80 and something breakpoint be good enough?

Merc questions: currently i'm planing to go for doom CA, with vgaze and shaftstop. What should i put into vgaze and shafstop? Or am i better of using something different? Will Doom break cold immunes on attack?

About the merc question: No, the doom will not break the cold immunes on attack. Only aura (conviction) and curse (lower resist) will break immunites. Do a search on the forums for both merc gear and breaking immunies and you will find alot of information.|||86 fhr is plenty for pvm. 55 from Spirit, 20 from Treks, 12 from a skiller and you are set. You can even get by with the lower breakpoint.

The -res from Doom (and other weapons with this kind of mod) only affects the person holding the weapon, in this case the merc. It won't do any good for you.|||Thanks Herpall for your input, i read upon all the -res things and think i understand everything now. If it is a common occurrence you really should get yourself a second element ... at least that's what's normally recommenced. If you're considering it then you may wish to check out the blova, blizzballer and meteblizz guides.

Other then that you could of course upgrade your mercenary. Doom is a very good polearm I'll admit, but it's not the one with the highest DPS. Also since you're a cold sorceress the holy freeze aura isn't quite as useful as it is on many other builds (the slowing and possibly freezing effects of your spells should be enough most of the time).

Or consider bypassing cold immunes entirely when you can. Blizz sorcs are not generalists, but they are very good at running things when they can bypass cold immunes, or not encounter them in the first place. If you want to run areas with a lot of cold immunes pure Blizz is not the right build.
