Why did blizzard screw nova so much?

[:1]I remember when I started nova/orb sorcs were some of the best sorcs and you used to beable to use all 3 talent trees. But then they beefed up hell and while frozen orb was still viable it seemed nova got kicked to the curb unless you were really rich.

So my question is why didn't nova get a synergy?|||There is no reason.|||Because not everything got one. Nova was already one of the strongest skills in 1.09 before synergies, and more would have just made it OP. It is still a very good skill, it simply requires a good skill bonus and a lot of FCR. ~+16 seems to be the minimum.|||Quote:

So what you are saying is, it is not a good skill at all. It can't do what other skills can at much lower levels.|||Quote:

Why do you even post if you are gonna post something stupid like this?|||I agree with Aluroon, nova can still be a very effective killer, you just need enough +skills so that you can put the monsters into hit recovery (1/12th of health) so that you can be safe when teleporting into a pack of monsters. Yes, things like having an infinity definately make it easier but its not necessarily needed. I still tend to prefer nova over lightning just because instead of having 1-10k damage I have an averaged 2.5k to 2.6k (these numbers are just made up bull, but I like having a higher minimum damage is essentially what I'm saying) Lightning is just too varied for my taste in comparison.|||Also you have to take into consideration that nova has a different cast rate table.|||Quote:

If you want to spin things that much, he's also saying that Nova can do things that other skills can't (barring FO maybe); kill effectively without investing in a synergy. Those other skills that are effective at a much lower level? Guess what, they require >40 skill points invested to do so.
