Should I go for a pure lightning build? Or remain with my meteorb sorc? Which build got the ability to kill faster and at the same time won't sacrifice too much on mf?|||You'll need Infinity to break lightning immunes, so pure light is out except if you want to restrict yourself to certain targets. Griff's -res will of course increase your damage quite a bit, so you can try a FO build with charged bolt or lightning (skill setup is the same).
It would help if you told us what other gear you have available. HotO? Skillers? Torch/Anni? SoJs?|||I could get an Infinity for my merc. He's currently having Insight, Andy, Duriel Shell.
My meteorb sorc is wearing Tal's set. 2x soj. Magefist. War travs. However, I do have an Hoto, COH, Spirit, Maras, Anni, Torch, Griffon.. Some 7mfsc and res sc. No skillers but I could get them as well.
So should I go pure light? How is the killing speed and damage as compare to a meteorb? Is there any clear advantage/disadvantage for pure light over meteorb?|||Pure light with Infinity, a couple of skillers and the stuff in your "However, I do have an..." equipment list is just about the fastest build in the game, and you can run any area. Comparing a meteorb would be unfair.
I haven't found Griffs yet so mine uses Crescent Moon. I went for about 800 hp after BO and the rest energy, and it works great with one just one point ES/TK. You can really get a butt-load of mana with 2 SoJs and BO so light's mana use is no prob at all, and it's easy enough to just use a pot or two when you're under fire. Just don't telebomb a mana burn frenzytaur.|||So is it necessary to get a +6 CTA? Or will any other CTA do the job as well? Or there is no need for a CTA? I have yet to check out any guild over here yet..but from what you mention, the normal pure light build will have most of their stats point pump into energy..am i right to say that?|||It's up to you where you want your points, but since you can't use an insight merc, points in energy are helpful. You don't have to have a CTA, and certainly not a +6, but it is nice. The biggest advantage to the higher level CTA is the duration of the BO, so you don't have to keep recasting it. Of course you do get more life/mana per level, but I find a low BO having to be recast to be very annoying.|||Hmmm..after browsing the sorc section of the forum..

Thanks!|||With 2x SoJ & BO you shouldn't need any points in energy for a light sorc unless you want to use energy shield.
Use lightning any time you don't have a big crowd to blast with chain lightning and you should be just fine.|||Just got a 35frc spirit and roll a 4bo cta!

Use griffons (add a light rbf), hoto, coh, spirit, maras, anni, torch, griffon, 2xsoj, magefist & war travs, with cta & spirit on switch. Also get arachnid mesh. That is pretty much the standard lightning build and the difference between that and a tal's meteorb is night and day. It's basically the fastest pvm build around (actually, even a lightning build based on full tal's set with infinity is far quicker than a regular meteorb).
Add a few skillers (and your torch and anni obv). With hoto & coh your resists should be ok. FCR is covered by hoto (30-40) + griffon(25) + spirit(35) + arach(20) + fist(20).
Stat points, enough str to equip, *everything else* vita.
Skill setup is pretty simple:
- One point wonders: warmth/teleport/telekinesis/static field.
- Max: lightning mastery, chain lightning, lightning, charged bolt, and nova.
Merc, my first choice is the frosty freezy. But it's not that important, nothing will survive that long.
Shake, blend, dominate pvm.

- cta
- teleport everywhere at max speed like a loon.
- groups: hose with chain lightning.
- champs/uniques: hose with lightning.
- act boss: teleport right next to them, hose with charged bolt.
