Let me start out by saying that pretty much the only purpose of my blizz sorc is to run Hell Meph. However, the problem is sometimes I'll accidentally tele into a group of Maulers or Undead Stygian Doll and proceed to get the crap beat out of me.
So I'm wondering if you guys would suggest I spend my stat points in getting max block or dumping a everything into vitality. The problem I see with max block right now is that if I'm tele'ing using a spirit monarch, that's about a 300 point investment at clvl 80 (feel free to check my math). That seems like a lot of stat points, and I'm wondering if I'm better off putting that all into vit.
Any thoughts/suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

With enough fast cast you don't need more than 25%-30% block.
With enough APM, you don't even need to invest in vitality at all.
And don't block with the Spirit Monarch, it has no Faster Block Rate.|||Thanks for all the input guys. Tweaked my gear a bit to increase my fhr/fcr and everything's all good now! Didn't even really worry about maxing block or pumping vit|||the 105 FCR breakpoint generally gets you there without many hits
FHR is a nice bonus to have, but not the dealbreaker that is FCR|||What shield do max block sorcs use? do they use Visceratuant? or some runeword?|||Quote:

There are several good options:
1) Stormshield is a good option for non-ES sorcs. Don't use this on an ES sorc though.
2) upped visceratuant. upping it improves the block rate considerably, wouldn't use this without upping first.
3) rhyme runeword for more magic find.
4) whitstan's guard for very low dext/str requirements. great shield for a base str build, you save a ton of stats. Lot of dueling ES/MB sorcs use this.
5) Sanctuary runeword if you want a bunch of resists.
6) Jeweler's/artisans tower shield of deflecting. Useful because you can stick 3 facets into it, so good for strait damage builds (or 3 ists for magic find builds). Can be shopped from vendors in a few hours of searching. There's also Jeweler's monarch of deflecting for 4 facets, but those are stupidly expensive and take more stat points than the tower shields anyway.
7) moser's, preferably upped, isn't bad either
