I currently have a level 88 Blizzard Sorceress and I've gotten her to Act 4 Hell without doing any of the quests after Mephisto. I am struggling to acquire finding the items I am needing. I have done hundreds of runs through Andariel, Mephisto and the Ancient Tunnels.
I don't have any magic find - I haven't got a clue how much is effective OR if having any is effective at all. How much is recommended?
With other places to magic find, is there any for a Blizzard Sorceress? I plan on making her a Lightning Sorceress once I can get the needed items. (sigh... Infinity

I have found a Perfect HOZ, so maybe I can get a Shako, Tals Armor or something I'm really in need for it.
Thanks,
- BenG!|||when it comes to mf, more is better, if it doesnt compromise ur killing speed (that is if u are looking for unique and set items - for charms and jewels mf doesnt matter (except gheeds and rbfs) - grey items it works the other way around) mf however has diminishing returns. search through the statistic subforum if u want to know more details. 200-450 mf is usually recomended as it is possible to achieve this while almost not sacrificing any kill-speed. ancient tunnels are the best place to mf with a blizzard sorceress due to the lack of normal cold immunes. add mephisto and quest drop bugged andi and u should have all the worthwhile targets for a cold sorceress in a1-3|||I'm assuming you are using only the items you have found. Do some shopping for gloves and boots with mf. It shouldn't take long to find some with 20-ish% MF. You may need to go NM to avoid higher strength requirement items. There is also the Wealth runeword (Lem + Ko + Tir) in a 3 socket armor. It has 100% MF. Or you can stick 4 perfect topaz in 4 socket armor.
If you are looking for basic gear, Hell Mephisto is your best bet. Since you are on single player, roll a good map with a short distance to lvl 3 and run him over and over again. If you are looking for rarer items, Ancient Tunnels and Pindleskin work, but they don't drop things very often. I'd skip Andy unless you are hunting specifically for rings/amulets.
I would say ~100MF if you are going self found. 200+ if you can trade and have better items available. Get your runs fast and efficient and you will see drops.|||Quote:

I thought about the Wealth but I still need to find a Ko Rune.
I have such a good map in my current games, Mephisto is about 3 teleports away and Andariel is 10-12 teleports in all to go to. I've ran the maps so many times I have memorized where all the special monsters are and everything, all about the time and patience for me. I will definately get Wealth once I get the Ko Rune.
I do Andariel just becuase I found a Mal from one of the chests next to her. Also just found Waterwalks and Sandstorms from her too.

I haven't gotten to Act 5 yet, still need to get Infinity merc becuase I am pure Blizzard.
Will keep you all informed!

All this stuff (except Tal's armor) can be found within a couple of thousand meph runs.
If you are trading your top priority should be getting Tal's armor and ammy.
Otherwise socket a ptopaz in a vipermagi and a +1/2 helm and start from there. Dual Nagelrings also goes a long way MF wise. Aim for 150++ MF and a handful of +skills. This is a great starting point and you will quickly gain better items by running meph.
If you want rune wealth as well popping the superchest behind meph might be a good idea. (Only as long as you can do this approximately as quick as popping a single LK superchest).|||Quote:

Infinity won't break native cold immunes in Hell.|||Quote:

Infinity is probably still the best bet I you want to mat a pure cold sorc.
40% CB combined with the -TD% from conviction makes the merc a killing machine. Ideally combined with a cham'd Guil's and CoH. But Andy's and Duriel's/GBane will be lethal as well.
Infinity has the side effect that you can static 95% of your CI enemies* as well which makes it much easier for your merc to finish off CIs.
*) Static Field kinda makes it a not 100% pure cold sorc, but that is a philosophical matter.
