build idea: the king is dead - long live the queen

[:1]so here is the basic idea:

Our Princess, the sorceress Vika, became married to Baal, the conquerer of her homeland, the land of the gummibears. while her parents were executed, she was locked away. until some time later she managed to escape. Now she is seeking Vengeance and wants so slay the King

Kingslayer

so lets say we get 3 to all skills added with our equipment and vengance gives +88% fire/cold/light dmg. how do masteries interact with this skill?

i think they would simply add up

ive been trying to calculate it with the one from the german site, but am still confused

so i was thinking something like this

max FM, LM, Enchant, Warmth, Telekinesis, rest into ES:

lvl 26 ench: 935 - 1165 (on memory switch)

hitting with lvl 23 fire mastery: 2655 - 3308

raven frost: 15-45 cold dmg

so while wielding a champion axe 'kingslayer' and having 167 str and a might merc (lvl 85)

the weapon dmg would be: 206-329

also i have this neat 7-16 dmg 50 ar jool id like to use here

and let's add 20 max dmg from charms

i know vengance works on the weapon dmg itself including +x min/max dmg from equipment and charms

physical dmg: 990-1606

cold dmg: (213-365)*0.88 = 187-321 -> how do the 15-45 from the raven interact here?

light dmg: (213-365)*(0.88+3.14) = 856 -1467

fire dmg: (213-365)*(0.88+1.84) = 579-992 -> how would the enchant dmg come into play here ?

would the elemental dmg simply be added or would it be multiplied by the 88% of vengeance too?

so if i understand it right that would give me a total dmg without enchant, ds or ravenfrost of:

(990+187+856+579) - (1606+321+1467+992) = 2612 - 4386

so basically im asking if my calculations are right and how does enchant or elemtal dmg from gear interact with vengeance. maybe i should ask this in the paladin subforum...

thanks

krupa|||The Conversion from Vengeance and FM/LM don't add, they multiply.

If you want to calculate the fire or lightning damage you:
  • calculate the weapon damage, including min/max but excluding any off-weapon %ED

  • apply the conversion factor of Vengeance

  • add any elemental damage from other sources

  • apply the mastery bonus

|||so that would be calculated like this:

weapon: 206-329

off weapon min/max: 7-36

enchant from switch: 935-1165

LM: +314%

FM: +184%

total phys: 990-1606

total cold: 202-334

total light: ((213-365)*0.88)*4.14 = 776-1329

total fire: (((213-365)*0.88)+(935-1165))*2.84 = 3184-4220

------------------------------------------------------------

5152-7489

is it this time correct?|||Yep, that looks better.|||I'm making a Kingslayer Sorc now actually. I'm going the one hand weapon with max block route, coupled with a decent amount of DR. Will be interesting to see how it works in Hell.|||thy stephan

@ herrpall: big axe wielding sorcs look just way cooler :-P

good luck with ur project nevertheless

might be some time till i find that runes and the base weapon. atm i only have um + fal and one ist, which doesnt really help|||You certainly have a point with that |||Just think of the vengeance modifiers as off-weapon ed%. Except they deal elemental damage|||You should definitely try to cast Enchant at a higher level. Equipping a +3 fire skills circlet & amu, +3 Enchant Ormus and +6 Enchant Memory before casting Enchant will get you to level 35-39 (are you using a torch and annihilus?) without much effort.

This can easily double your fire damage output. Also, I'm quite sure you'll need the additional attack rating bonus, since you can't use a shield and hence won't be putting 200+ points into dexterity.

There's much to be said about this build, but unless you go into more detail concerning your (planned?) equipment I don't quite know where to start. |||CtH is really not much of a problem. Who pumps dex for AR anyways? It's a nice side effect, but you can get enough flat AR by other means.
